Right from the start, the Westinghouse 12L Opti-Fry was a letdown. It always smelled like burning plastic, making the food taste bad too. Despite the smell easing up, my food still tasted like plastic. Having used many fryers, this is the worst. Three months in, it's falling apart: the light's out, and the beep is unreliable. Plus, that plastic smell persists, especially when it's hot. Frustratingly, I bought this because we loved our similar, cheap no-name fryer from Amazon, which we've had for over four years. Its trays even fit this one. I thought a branded item would be a step up. I was wrong. This new one is a huge disappointment and hassle, worse than the old one I wanted to replace due to its age and being too lazy to clean it. I'm so done with it, not even caring for a refund; I just want it gone.
